Getting to Know You consisted of three series of site-specific works developed through artist residencies undertaken at Fowlers Gap in far west NSW and Mildura in regional Victoria, and through studio-based practice at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney. Developed as part of Dillon's Honours Research Project, this body of work presented a personal investigation of place as the product of negotiation between site, self and culture. The final installation featured a series of behavioural studies that explored the role of the artist in places of the studio, the gallery, the landscape and the residency.
