Collaborative exhibition with Barbara Meyer Cesta & Vera Trachsel

To create a link with the different generations and past lives of Espace libre, current curators Beth Dillon and Vera Trachsel invited former director of the space, Barbara Meyer Cesta, to join them for a one week residency at Sonnenstube, Lugano. Meyer Cesta proposed a collaborative expedition and exhibition project centred on L’Odorosa, a mystical, poetic and phantasmagorical Madonna statue salvaged from her childhood home. Working together on site, the trio created a constellation of found objects and improvised actions evoking the mysteries of L’Odorosa.
