An old story so new it's still in the middle of happening
(2025)

Video installation

Presented as part of group exhibition, 'L'amour en Friche', La Friche, St-Ursanne, Switzerland. June-September 2025

Blending video, sound, and sculptural elements, the installation explores the ambivalent terrain of maternal love—between attachment and autonomy, instinct and education, tenderness and agression. Inspired by the she-wolf from Rome’s founding myth, the work offers a tender, comical, and at times unsettling portrait of a hybrid wolf-mother, Trix, and her two pups. The multi-channel installation draws the audience into a “fever dream” of interspecies motherhood, questioning ideals of unconditional love and the social expectations that shape reproductive labour.

The work was created with the help of Dillon's partner Gregory Stauffer, their two children Mathilde and Sol and young neighbour Thelma.

Camera: Janosch Perler
